“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
A true lover of fashion (and anything that twirls), Annabelle was pleasantly pleased with the contents of her first Mac & Mia box last month. From a New England Summer Midi Dress to a bright and whimsical Embroidered Tassel Dress. From a fun necklace and gauzy watermelon frock, the items chosen by Stylist Molly P represent Annabelle’s style. Two of the most versatile pieces in the box are a preppy striped tank and the softest flouncy twirl skirt.
We love how Molly P chose a tank and skirt that Annabelle can wear out to dinner with her parents, or while playing in the backyard. Annabelle actually wore her skirt to a Mommy and Me paint class – forgot to put on a smock – and ended up with red paint all over the hem. Don’t worry, the paint washed out of the skirt easily.
The criss cross back of the tank is so unique, absolutely something you would find in my personal closet. We can pair the lightly striped tank with shorts, jeans, or even under a cardigan this fall. As for the skirt – we have a new favorite bottom in our closet. Annabelle loves the way the skirt spun out as she did her signature ballet spin in the backyard.
What is Mac and Mia?
Mac & Mia is a web-only personalized shopping service for kids (newborn to 6 years). A team of stylists chooses a set of unique items to send your little ones based on a profile that YOU create online. Mac & Mia makes shopping easier for parents and sets up your child with 6-9 items that work well with one another. You will discover not only clothing, but also accessories or shoes (if requested).
Mac & Mia – How Does It Work?
The first step to receiving a personalized style box for your little girl or boy is by entering some basic information on the Mac & Mia website.ย You’ll find an invitation in your email shortly afterwards and then the fun begins. Mac & Mia will have you create a profile for your child that includes their likes and dislikes, as well as opinions of outfits, . You can contact your stylist directly to make the box even more personal. For example, Molly P chatted with me through email, on the phone, and did her own research of each of the girls’ personal style. She asked what the girls needed (play clothes, fancy clothes, etc.) and what Mom wanted for their closet.
Mac & Mia – What’s Next?
After the box arrives, you have five days to decide what you want to keep and what you want to send back. Annabelle always wants to keep everything that comes in her box. However, I am trying to teach her about practicality. Once you’ve chosen the keepers, you place the unwanted items in a prepaid shipping envelope included in your box and pop it in the mailbox. Then sign into your account and tell your stylist what’s coming back and why. It’s important to mention the reasons you chose to keep what you did because you’re letting your stylist know how to improve the next box!
The stylist fee for Mac & Mia is $20, but this is deducted from your purchase total if you choose to buy 2 or more items. If you sign up here, you’ll receive a $20 merchandise credit with your first box! If you love it – make sure you tell ALL the Mommies and Daddies you know. There is a great referral program so that you can earn credits towards future boxes if your friends make a purchase.
