We are absolutely blessed to have two beautiful daughters who seem to charm everyone that walks into their lives. The sisters are funny, whimsical, feisty, and precious – an absolute handful at times but worth every stressful second.
Since Annabelle was born, she has always been one to leave a little sparkle wherever she goes. We are very lucky to have such a sweet girl who seems to make an impression on everyone she meets. The older she gets, the more impressive she becomes on those around her. I swear she breathes a sort of fairy dust that makes you come alive when inhaled.
Ailey is just as impressive as her big sister, but definitely has her differences. She loves to show off with a bright smile and is a bit more outgoing. When Annabelle was little, she would rarely allow a stranger to give her a hug. Ailey – well if you’re smiling, she’s smiling, and she might just give you a snuggle if you’re lucky.
One of my favorite things about my girls are the power they hold in their eyes – one wrong move and you can feel their judging eyes from across the room. If they’re upset, happy, sad, or confused, we can always tell by the look in their eyes. Big, brown, beautiful eyes – Annabelle’s are the shape of her Daddy and Ailey has my squinty almonds.
When Natural Kids Clothing sent the sisters the most adorable outfits I knew Annabelle would go wild about her dress. The bright pink flowers on the bottom half of the dress alone are enough to make her smile – but with the delicate flutter sleeves and full skirt, Annabelle may never take it off. Annabelle’s dress is so feminine and playful, but delicate at the same time, multifunctional in the sense that I know will want to wear it to school, a party, or for Easter Sunday.
Ailey’s romper is just as beautiful, with a matching crisp white bodice and lace flutter sleeves. The floral bloomer bottoms close with easy snaps to make changing diapers simple. I love that there is a removable bow that attaches with snaps, so when Ailey is lying on her back, or sitting in the car, the bow won’t dig into her.
Natural Kids Clothing, an Etsy shop located in Australia, creates long lasting, easy to care for cotton clothing for children. I absolutely love the high quality look of the girls’ 100% cotton outfits, and adore their soft, but sturdy feel. The girls had their fair share of rolling around while I tried to take their photos and neither the dress nor the romper were wrinkled by the end of our shoot. Each piece was clearly made with attention to detail – from the button on bow to the lace flutter sleeves.
Ruth started Natural Kids Clothing just over 3 years ago after she and her husband moved to a beautiful rural village for a tree change. There is very limited employment here, so having had extensive sewing experience, she thought it was a way to be able to help provide some income. She uses only cotton or organic cotton fabrics, for she thinks they are a much better choice for babies and children as they breathe and are comfortable against the skin (I agree!). Since opening her shop, she has sold all over the world, and had her clothes featured on the runway for the past two years in Child Model Magazine’s Fashion Parade in the US.
