When you’re pregnant, one of the biggest decisions you will make is regarding a diaper bag. I don’t know why it can be so difficult to choose one, but while carrying Annabelle I had such a hard time. My number one pick for Annabelle’s diaper bag was the Pottery Barn Classic Mom Diaper Bag in Gray for quite some time. Then I saw a Petunia Pickle Bottom bag that I could see myself carrying. Clearly I had some issues picking out just one… I’ve put together the best diaper bags for 2017.
What kind of diaper bag do you like the most?
For Annabelle, I chose the Skip Hop Duo Diaper Bag in Grey Chevron. It’s easy to attach to the stroller, the exterior wipes clean with soap/water, lots of storage with magnetic closures, and two top hidden pockets are great for carrying Mommy’s stuff. Reasons I do not LOVE this bag: It’s hard to find things in it when you’re in a rush. It is tall and deep. It is hard to keep it on while I am carrying a baby, so I try to wear it as a cross-body in hopes it doesn’t fall off my shoulder.
For Ailey, I have a few diaper bags. I use the TWELVElittle Love Nylon Tote, the Lily-Jade Madeline, and my LV Neverfull. I like all three of these bags for various reasons.
The TWELVElittle Love Nylon Tote is has an easily washable exterior, lots of interior and exterior pockets, it’s lightweight, and so easy to carry. The bag is tall, so I can fit a lot of what I need for a day of errands inside and there are magnetic closures on the exterior wide pockets.
The Lily-Jade Madeline converts from a shoulder bag to a crossbody to a backpack. It is leather, beautiful, and has an amazing organizing insert and matching changing pad. You can read my full review here.
My LV Neverfull is not your standard diaper bag, but when I am running out the door with the girls, it holds everything I need for a quick trip. I wouldn’t recommend spending all your pennies on such a beautiful bag to hold diapers, but if you own one already, don’t push it to the side.
Other diaper bags that I’ve known my friends to recommend are the Diaper Dude for Dads , the Oh Joy! line at Target (I love this backpack), and anything by Petunia Pickle Bottom. Don’t let choosing a diaper bag be stressful!
You can shop all of my favorite diaper bags below… and leave me a comment with your pick for the best diaper bag!

My cousin has the green version of the Marc Jacobs diaper bag & loves it. I am always jealous when I see her carrying it. Mine is from Petunia Picklebottom & I absolutely love it. You should check their site out as well…

I have the marc jacobs in black! It’s amazing!!! It fits so much, can be wiped clean and doesn’t look like a diaper bag. My husband doesn’t mind carrying it either. Best purchase worth every penny!!

I carry a Diaper Dude bag. Not the most fashionable but extremely practical, durable, and it’s ok for the Mr. to carry too.

Adam and I just went to Burlington coat factor and scored a carter’s bag for 39.99! Based on experiences from last time, don’t waste your money on something super expensive. Make sure your able to throw it in the wash, you have no idea how much time you will spend cleaning and sanitizing that thing. And be prepared for it to hold ALOT of stuff and take a beating. We went with the one from carters because 1. it was cheap and I know quickly they wear out and 2. it can be washed and 3. it holds ALOT of stuff.

I splurged and got a Coach diaper bag, and I am so happy I did! It looks great and can be used as a computer bag or overnight bag later on!

*not a mom* BUT the bag I use for the twins I nanny for is a Coach leather baby bag (I think its the Saffiano) and it’s so functional and can totally be used for travel, etc when not used specifically for baby stuff. It also has a longer strap so its a crossbody as well! Especially since you’ll be using this as your purse as well, ya might as well pick one you really like and will hold up well!

I got a skiphop versa bag and I love it!!

I would say to get a bag that isn’t too girly for the hubs sake when he has to carry it around. LOL

Hello Catalyn, congratulations on your baby! I wasnt sure if you were familiar with Cinda B. I am Fort Wayne, Indiana which is where both Vera Bradley and Cinda B are made. Our hospitals give out both and I have found myself that my taste has crossed over from the Vera Bradley to the Cinda B. Check it out! They too have bags that come with the changing pad and some are much more father friendly!

That’s why I liked the Pottery Barn one!

I love, love, love my Kate Spade Stevie bag. It’s super roomy, has some nice compartments, and doesn’t look like a diaper bag (all musts when I was choosing one).

Thanks for featuring our bags!! They are all adorable 🙂

I’m having a hard time with diaper bags, too. I don’t want something that LOOKS like a diaper bag because I know I’ll end up carrying it as a purse as well. I’m going to look up some of those and see if I can put one on my Amazon registry!

mine is kate spade, but i also LOVE the petunia pickle boxy backpack and the PB mom bag! it took me so so SO long to decide. my KS is an actual purse rather than a diaper bag but it works!

I really want a Timi & Leslie diaper bag.

I love all the accessories they come with, and I don’t want a print. I am anal about matching, and know the print would clash with clothes I’d wear, so I’d rather a solid neutral for my bag! I do think Petunia Pickle Bottoms prints are gorgeous, though!

I registered to 2 diaper bags. I got the Harper Tote in aqua and orange but I also registered for a JP Lizzy bag as well. One is sporty while the other is a little fancier. Both are under $100.

I saw the Petunia Pickle bottom one on LIttle Miss Momma’s blog and thought it was the cutest since it had a separate compartment for just “moms” stuff! 🙂

Definitely Pottery Barn!!

I just got a storksak bag and LOVE it. Had a skip hop bag before, and this one is way better. Make sure it’s got a zipper on top, that’s a deal breaker. Also, I opted for a black bag, since I wanted something that looked similar to a purse and didn’t scream DIAPER BAG if Ryan were to carry it. But that’s also a personal opinion.

I bought a Kate Spade one from Nordstroms 5 1/2 years ago when my first son was born, and I still use it all the time. It’s all black, and the strap is long enough to even put on diagonal around my body when I have a ton of things to carry (like getting on an airplane). Make sure yours has a zipper. If not, your things will fall out, especially when you bend over to pick things up and it is on your arm, and when your baby is big enough, she will want to take everything out of the bag and make a mess.

The Pottery Barn one is by far my fav! Go with your gut! lol

I have used the Vera Bradley diaper bag and they are just perfect and very comfortable for me! It has many pockets plus changing pad as well. The plus point of Vera Bradely diaper bag is that it doesn’t look like a diaper bag! I love the design and look of it which is simple and eye catchy. Recommend to all moms!
