Annabelle and I have been singing Alice Cooper’s “Schools Out” all morning long. Today is our first day of summer vacation and we couldn’t be happier! So happy that Annabelle put herself down for a nap at 10am. I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs, dressed for a morning of errands and then lunch with Daddy, waiting on the Princess to wake up. Of course one should never complain when a baby is sleeping…
My school year went by more smoothly than I could have ever imagined. With a class of 15 brilliant sweet first graders, a team of incredible colleagues, and a slew of helpful, caring parents – I went to work every day with a smile on my face. Sure there were a few hiccups once in awhile, because nothing is ever perfect, but I could not be more pleased with my experience in my new school.
Annabelle and I have lots planned for the summer. Trips to Connecticut, Cape Cod, and Ohio are on our list of places to see. We may sneak off to the beach in July! During the time we are home in Georgia, we are hoping to meet Daddy every day for lunch and have playdates with our friends. I am so excited to spend time with my family and friends!
Today is also a very special day because it’s my sister’s birthday! My sister is incredible – she is a wonderful Auntie and my best friend. Lizzie is turning 27 on the 27th – so a champagne celebration is in order! Annabelle and I are flying up to Connecticut on June 1 and we will make sure she has a proper hip hip hooray party next week.
