Some things I am discovering while being a health conscious bear:
- Even though my pants are still a little snug, it’s because I can see the muscles in my thighs again. Adios mushy legs – by the time it’s warm enough I can welcome some new shorts into my wardrobe!
- I have more energy throughout the day and during physical activities – I can walk outside for an hour and a half at a seriously fast pace – and feel like I got a good workout without killing my knees by running (I am so that weirdo power walker you see on the side of the road).
- Hello Abs, where have you been hiding? I saw you in Maui and thought you were gone for good. Welcome back to my world.
- I don’t feel guilty when I indulge in some vino or brewskies on the weekend. Waking up on Monday morning and knowing that I didn’t go on a two day eating and drinking binge sure is wonderful.
- I am learning more about how my body responds to certain foods by keeping track of what I eat (which is how I discovered last year that I can’t eat red meat or fatty foods). This year I am discovering that lots of carbs/fiber at night = bloated belly in the morning.
Before I leave you to type up my new recipes from last night, I MUST tell you all about the incredible bread I bought last night from MOM’s Organic Market – Whole Wheat Cinnamon Raisin by Stone Mill Bread Company. It is made with 7 ingredients, no preservatives, no fat, and OMG I had to kick myself out of the kitchen this morning so I wouldn’t eat half of the loaf. I toasted a piece, slathered on some almond butter & honey, topped it with banana slices, and YUM!
They had samples of their Apple Streusel at MOM’s last night and I think I had three pieces before reminding myself how pathetic and hungry I looked. They were all out of that kind so I went with the WWCR and was very pleased. I am going to go and pick some AS up… and hopefully snag one of their Asiago Pesto Loaves.
FYI- I am not telling you how tasty it is b/c they told me to, or even offered to let me review their goods (I totally would if you asked me). I wanted to let anyone in Maryland know about this place so they can rush out and buy this deliciously HEALTHY bread!

I have already visited the food blog… ummm… I think that’s bad sign numero uno – because HELLO!!! I shouldn’t be eating so much!!!
Anyway, I am so happy that you are starting to feel so much better with all those great changes in your life ๐ It’s funny, because then we look back and think WHY didn’t we do this before???
Anyway, i am going to stop blabbering! I am happy you’re happy… that’s the bottom line on this business!
