You all know that I went dairy free a few months ago… and you all know that I love my sweets and my cheese. Unfortunately, dairy free has eliminated quite a few of my favorite treats from my life – Reese’s Peanut Butter cups being close to number 1. Always looking for something to please my sweet tooth, I found For Goodness Cakes NY on Etsy. For Goodness Cakes NY is a shop that sells 100% dairy free baked goods that can be shipped right to your doorstep! Chrissy, the owner/baker, is lactose intolerent, and started her shop after discovering she had a talent for creating delicious dairy-free treats. Imagine my surprise, fancy, and enthusiasm when the owner/baker, Chrissy, offered to send me a dairy free vegan peanut butter pie just in time for my birthday…
The peanut butter pie arrived on my doorstep still frozen (score!), so I gave it some time to thaw out before digging in. After 20 minutes I could no longer contain myself, so I cut a big fat slice. Oh-EM-Gee.
The inside of my slice looked just like a peanut butter cup… it smelled like a peanut butter cup… and it tasted JUST like the most delicious peanut butter cup I have ever eaten in my life. I almost fainted after my first bite. It tasted like heaven.
I kid you not… the peanut butter pie was out of this world amazing. I promptly inhaled two slices. Then I shared a little with Brandon – who might have told me three times he thought there had to be dairy in it because it was so good.
Since I could not eat a whole pie myself (well I probably could, but thankfully I have a little bit of self control), I sent what was left with Brandon to work. He said that his coworkers devoured it in minutes, and then asked where it came from. He shared the pie’s back story, and everyone was shocked that it was dairy free AND vegan!
Chrissy might have herself a little gold mine here. Word needs to get out that if you’re looking for a dairy free treat, check out For Goodness Cakes NY on Etsy. Chrissy bakes everything from pumpkin bread (yum!) to coffee cake to snickerdoodle cookies. Not only does she make dairy free delicious desserts, but gluten free as well!

I don’t need to go vegan, but if anyone needs a reference for vegan cakes, I’ll send them their way!

I think vegans and non-vegans alike will love this pie! My entire family is non-vegan, and they can’t get enough of it! It’s impossible to tell that there’s no egg, milk, butter etc. Thanks for the reference!

My little one was dairy sensitve too and I have been able to slowly introduce dairy back into my diet. Now that she is older it really doesn’t bother her anymore.
