Giving Back with Amazon This Season
This post is sponsored by Amazon, however all thoughts and opinions are my own.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year when everything seems most merry and bright. While families are cheerfully decorating their homes and little kids are making wish lists for Santa. My husband and I want our daughters to understand the holidays aren’t just about receiving gifts, but giving too. Whether it be donations to a local shelter or an extra dollar to a charity at checkout, there are so many ways to give back during the holidays.
One of the ways my family is giving back this holiday season is through Amazon. Amazon is dedicated to make donating easy by giving back to charities and organizations in three different ways: , , and donating via Alexa.
Giving Back with Amazon
My family is using AmazonSmile this holiday season while shopping for everything from Christmas presents to last-minute must-haves for our home. A portion of our sales from eligible purchases is going to be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association, a foundation near to my heart.
Since my Grandmother passed away from dementia and my best friend’s father has early-onset dementia, I want to make sure I’m doing whatever I can to aid in the fight against Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s Association’s mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
How to Use AmazonSmile
Donating to the Alzheimer’s Association, or any charity or organization of your choice, is very simple through the AmazonSmile website. First, choose a cause, then shop for what you need. After your purchase is complete, a portion of your sales from eligible purchases will be donated to your organization of choice.
My daughters helped me pick out a table and lamp we needed for our family room. After purchasing the items, I explained how some of our money was donated to an organization helping others. I know they were satisfied to learn our purchase could make someone smile.
If you’re looking for the perfect holiday gift this season, why not give a loved one the opportunity to give back to their community? With an Amazon gift card, anyone can pay it forward by purchasing from an AmazonSmile Charity List. With Charity Lists, all charity accounts are verified so you can take the guesswork out of giving and donate worry-free. For example, if you want to donate supplies to service dogs for veterans, you can buy the supplies right through the site.
To take it step further, you can even donate through an Alexa enabled device! All you have to do is say “Alexa, I want to make a donation.”
I want nothing more for my daughters to grow up fostering a love of giving back to their community and those in need. By teaching them how to Deliver Smiles with Amazon at an early age, I know they’re learning that giving is as important as receiving. This holiday season, help Deliver Smiles with Amazon!

Thanks Caitlin. We have used Amazon to donate as well. I am glad you selected Alzeheimer’s. My Mother suffered with it prior to her death and now we just had to come to grips with my Father in law only knowing we look familiar. Maybe some day we will be able to put an end to this dreaded condition. I hope everyone enjoys every day and lives each day fully.
