one. SNOW.
Of course, we would be traveling when there is a chance for snow in Georgia… but thankfully I saw my share in Vermont and Connecticut! My family and I love snow oh-snow-much and we all had our fill while up North in New England. I think it’s safe to say that Annabelle has some of her Momma’s Yankee blood in her veins since she was able to stay out in the cold a lot longer than you’d think a little Georgia peach could handle. She made 100 snow angels (see my Instagram for a video) and even convinced my Dad to make one too (his first!).
two. Valentine’s Day decorations.
Love is in the air. Last week I posted about decorating after Christmas with winter greens and whites, but left out the option of red, white, and HEARTS for Valentine’s Day. Annabelle chose the love day route for our home after we stopped in the Target Dollar Spot yesterday. I picked up a large wooden heart and LOVE garland for $6, but it wasn’t enough. My mantle is still in need of some love:
Here is some Pinspiration, but I need to know where to find decorations. We are headed to Home Goods in a few hours and I hope to pick up a couple items there.
three. I said YES!
I’m so excited I can’t stand it… I get to be a MOH again! My sister Tine is getting married September 23 and I am one of three very important sisters that will be standing by her side. She asked us when we were in Vermont the night before NYE with these cute socks and other goodies. Look for a review on the stuff she used to ask us to be her Maid of Honors in the next couple of weeks.
four. dairy free is the way to be.
Gosh I really did a number on myself and Ailey (her skin issues are back) over the holidays. I cheated so many times and had cheese or dairy products at least twice a day. I just can’t turn down a good pizza! Truthfully, neither one of us are allergic to dairy, we are just sensitive and feel better without it in our diets. Our skin and bellies are more clear and happy even if my heart is not (I love cheese!!). I am hoping to see some results soon, especially since my pants have gotten tighter around the hips and my chin is broken out. I made two delicious meals this week topped with dairy free parmesan from Sprouts. I’ll post recipes next week.
five. cousins.
Last weekend I hosted a “Family Play Date” at my parents house for all of my siblings, cousins, and their kids. My Aunts and Uncle joined us too! We had a birthday cake for my cousin Brian’s 31st and lots of snacks. A couple cousins couldn’t make it, but we were able to snap a photo of everyone that was there. I am so lucky to have been able to grow up alongside these people and even more lucky my girls will grow up knowing their cousins too! Clearly they’re all having fun together….
The girls in the Ana dresses – my daughter and my cousin Sam’s daughter – were the stars of the family play date. They held hands whenever they walked around the house and annoyed the big kids by stomping around in their toddler high heels. The love Annabelle has for Reese makes my heart sing.
Linking up with A Smidge of This, Sept. Farm, and Momfessionals.

Hi Caitlin! Aren’t you and your family just the cutest! I noticed when I was putting my link in that yours had just gone up too. I’m going to do some poking around on your blog and read your story. How fun you got together with your cousins and their kids. Would you believe I’m one of 30 grandkids on my mom’s side? (that’d make a good post…thanks for the idea) We’ve never all been together and there were a couple I never even met due to distance and age. CRAZY! Congrats on the MOH gig. So fun!!! I’m not sure what I’d do if I had to stop eating cheese?. Have a great weekend!!!

So jealous of all that snow! I hope we get at least one good snow this season. I think your mantle needs a bit of greenery – maybe a topiary. Congrats on being MOH again. Weddings are so much fun.

All great favorites!! I’m not allergic to dairy either but I am trying to limit my intake of dairy products because I know they’re harder for your stomach to process and just all around not good for you!

Stopping by from the link-up. LOVE those socks! And I totally relate to the dairy free diet, and issues that arise when I don’t stick to it.
Happy Friday!

I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking about Valentine’s Day! That playdate looks like a lot of fun, I grew up with a bunch of cousins close in age as well and it was always a (rowdy) good time when we were together!
