For Father’s Day weekend, my sister’s in-laws invited on a family beach trip to Montauk. We stayed in a beautiful beach cottage within walking distance to the beach and celebrated the Dads. My own Dad didn’t make the trip, but he was happy to relax at home in a quiet house. The Hamptons are so beautiful, so serene, and a new destination we hope to frequent.
My sisters and I (plus my Mom) did our best to wrangle all the kids so the Dads could enjoy themselves. Sunday was the craziest chasing after Ailey and Annabelle in the ocean and taking sand out of Sloane’s mouth. My sister’s in-laws had a lot of their family there too, so we had help and distractions.
Settling back into our normal routine is so difficult after a beach vacation. Ailey woke up this morning asking to go in the ocean and didn’t quite understand we are more than just a quick walk away now. The girls had the best time playing with their cousins and Aunts/Uncles and are having some serious family withdrawals today. Aside from my sunburn, our family beach trip to Montauk was an amazing time.
Fortunately, we are going on another family trip to Florida this weekend! My husband’s side of the family has rented a house in Destin and we are excited to spend a week with everyone. The girls will meet their new cousin who was born in December, and they will have plenty of people to run around with on the beach. With that being said, we have a lot of unpacking, laundry, and organizing to do this week before we leave again on Saturday morning. Happy Monday everyone!
