Decorating the Front Porch for the Holidays is made easier with Facebook Marketplace.
The Christmas season is in full effect and making spirits bright is my favorite thing to do. Since we moved into a new home that’s bigger than the last, we had to restock our Christmas decorations.
My husband is so proud of the exterior of our home. He is adorning each window with a red bow wreath and twinkly lights around the red front door. He wants to create a warm, inviting front porch for visitors, but needs something special. I am excited to surprise him with a gift that’s symbolic of our first year in our new home.
One of the ideas we have for decorating the front porch for the holidays is with an antique sled.
A sled made of metal and wood not only symbolizes my childhood adventures sledding in New England, but my husband’s youth in the South. It’s not easy to find an antique sled online with a simple search – most shops sell antique “inspired” sleds and not the real thing. What is great about Facebook Marketplace is that it’s an easy way to discover, buy, and sell special items.
My husband is thrilled with the addition to our breezeway. He agrees it is a unique decoration symbolic of our first Christmas in Connecticut. The antique sled is a gift he will treasure for years to come. The hand painted details on the sled are a special feature not found on your regular antique sled, and depict a perfect wintery day for sledding.
Sentimental Christmas Decorations Make Wonderful Gifts
If you haven’t used Facebook Marketplace, you’re missing out on an extremely easy service. You can save money by shopping locally for everything from special items to everyday items that typically cost more in stores. All you need to shop on Facebook Marketplace is a Facebook account. You can easily search for items in a designated area and then check out a person’s public Facebook profile before deciding to buy (or sell) from the person.
Decorating for the holidays is more fun when you use unique items.
I searched “antique sled” within a 5 mile radius from my home and found a few options. After checking out the listings, I chose to purchase a sled from a lovely woman just a few towns over. I paid her online and picked it up outside her home on the same day. If you don’t find an item immediately, Facebook Marketplace saves the search and sets up notifications.
Decorating for the holidays was made easy with Facebook Marketplace. Gift giving for the holidays can be made simple by using Facebook Marketplace. I love vintage milk glass vases and plan to teach my husband to use Facebook Marketplace to find more to add to my collection.
Thank you Facebook Marketplace for sponsoring this post. There’s something for everyone!
