Lately I have been waking up craving something I haven’t had since I was little… really little. It was a breakfast that I think our British neighbors downstairs made for me… and I am almost positive that my mom made for me too. This breakfast would be comfort food – to comfort the anxiety I feel every morning before school. This breakfast would make me oh so happy.
This breakfast: Egg Soldiers and Toast Fingers.
I don’t know if that is what everyone calls a soft boiled egg and toast cut into strips… but that is what I vaguely remember it being called. Served alongside a huge glass of orange juice…mmm.
I would love for this breakfast. It makes me think of a time of innocence, a time when all that mattered was if your friends were going to be able to play dolls with you that day. I need some egg cups though, if I want to try to make this breakfast myself…definitely something the birthday fairy could bring me!
Here is an article about Eggs with Soldiers.…the name given to the quintessential English breakfast.
Have a wonderful Thursday! I know I will… considering it is finally going to be less than 80 degrees here =0)
