Always Making My Spirits Bright

If this picture doesn’t sum up parenthood, I don’t know anything. A sassy toddler, the baby finally looking at the camera, Mommy clearly irritated, and Daddy confused/distracted/like he wants to go watch football.

My best friend captured this honest moment in our life when we were taking family Christmas photos last month. We didn’t even know the picture existed until all 500 photos were uploaded onto the computer. Once I found it, I instantly knew this picture would be a forever favorite and part of our annual Christmas card. Thank you Kim!

With all that life has handed us in 2016, I feel like I can honestly say it has been the best year yet. The number of hugs and kisses in our lives has doubled with the addition of Ailey. Annabelle has grown into the most loving, inquisitive, spectacular little person with whom we can hold a true conversation about anything. She is reminding us to appreciate all the tiny things – from a contrail in the sky to a great story. Since I left teaching, I’ve worked my bum off on my blog and feel like I’m reaching my readers with posts that matter. And Brandon – he has made it possible for me to stay home and always brings the laughs and fun in at the end of a hard day.

I love my little family of four and wouldn’t trade the chaos, sleepless nights, stressful days for anything in the whole wide world. From our crazy crew to yours – Merry Christmas!
