Everyone celebrates Valentine’s Day differently with food, music, movies, etc. Whatever and however you celebrate, here are 5 things you must avoid on Valentine’s Day.
5 things you should absolutely avoid on Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day is almost here and how you celebrate may be different from others. Maybe you’re going to a fancy dinner with your Valentine – or perhaps spending time with family at home. Are you and a furry friend watching Netflix or did you decide to curl up alone with your favorite book? Whatever you do on Valentine’s Day, make sure you avoid the following.
one. these movies.
There are so many awful love stories that require a box of tissues or entire bottle of wine to watch. Romance movies can be the worst, like The Fault in Our Stars and Titanic, when there is death involved or a terrible ending. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wasted an evening watching a depressing love story that should’ve come with a disclaimer. Here are 6 Movies to Steer Clear of on V Day, 10 Movies to Avoid on the Day of Love, and 8 Films to Turn Off on Valentine’s Day.
two. these songs.
I don’t care how high your emotional tolerance is, there are some love songs that are result in tears and depression upon listening. I’ll never forget the first time I cried over a song – I was 8 years old listening to “Tears in Heaven.” The song was written for Eric Clapton’s deceased son – and is obviously not meant for ‘Valentine’s Day Listening.’ BUT it is about the love Eric has for his son – and love it love. Here are some more songs you should avoid on Valentine’s Day.
three. these foods.
Whoever said fresh garlic chunks should be an ingredient in a romantic recipe should be slapped. There is nothing romantic about sour breath or stinky sweat. Beans, hot dogs, and anything with seeds can be tragic for your digestive system and teeth. Here are foods to avoid on Valentine’s Day, a list of Vibe-Killing Foods to Avoid, and more foods you should never eat on Valentine’s Day.
four. these places.
If you’re single (and not happy about it) then most restaurants are an absolute NO when it comes to dining out on Valentine’s Day. Who wants to eat a meal surrounded by lovebirds? Here are the worst places to go on Valentine’s Day. P.S. If you’re looking for somewhere to take your Valentine, don’t forget Chick-Fil-A is closed on Sundays and Subway at Walmart is not romantic.
five. these gifts.
Gift giving does not have to be a requirement when celebrating Valentine’s Day, but many people believe it is part of the day. In my marriage, we exchange cards and maybe treat ourselves to a delicious meal. For our daughters, we give them a candy and a card. If you’re looking for a last minute Valentine’s Day gift, avoid anything weight related, an I.O.U., and these hilarious items. Ha, this was a funny post. Me and my man are keeping it low key with an evening of music + cooking together. Handmade cards + an overnight stay in a cabin next month as our “gift”.
