One of the easiest ways to bring fall into your home starts in the kitchen. Here are 5 apple recipes to try this fall.
While pumpkins and squash are reserved for October and November, I find apples to be the best fall fruit for September. I love fresh apples – and we conveniently live very close to a few orchards where you can pick your own apples. If I’m not able to pick my own apples I can always find delicious local apples at our grocery store!
5 Apple Recipes to Try This Fall
After visiting an orchard in the fall, the most asked question is: What can I do with lots of apples? The answer: easy apple recipes with few ingredients. Apple Crisp is a popular way use picked apples, but my dessert recipe is the best because it is dairy free! The other four recipes are from around the web – three savory apple recipes and one tasty treat!
Apple Crisp (Oat-less and Dairy Free)
Apple Crisp is a relatively simple dessert made by baking apples, sugar, and butter with a crumbly coating sprinkled on top. Most Apple Crisps contain oats, but I prefer to leave them out! My Oat-less and Dairy Free Apple Crisp is a household must-have during the fall.
Pork Chops with Applesauce
One of my childhood dinner staples was oven baked pork chops with a side of applesauce. I saw Wyse Guide share a one skillet pork chop and homemade smashed applesauce recipe that looks AMAZING! Applesauce is really easy to make but this one melds perfect with the pork chops.
Vegan Apple Cider Donuts
Nothing else gives fall feelings like an apple cider donut. These Vegan Apple Cider Donuts by Banana Diaries look heavenly – I just need a donut pan!
Chicken Fricassee with Apples
Jen Segal’s Chicken Fricassee with Apples sounds easily delicious. The combination of apples and onions are a little bit of sweet and savory – my only adjustment would be to use vegan butter and omit the cream.
Irish Cider Pork Roast and Onions
Sunday dinner may just have be Irish Cider Pork Roast and Onions by The Old Woman and the Sea. There aren’t any actual apples in the recipe, only apple cider, but I don’t see why one could not add a Galas.
