April Favorites 2026: Books, Mom Life & Little Joys I’m Loving Right Now

Hello April. It’s a chilly and rainy long Easter weekend here in Connecticut. I have today off from work and plan to dye Easter eggs, prep for Sunday, and share what I am loving lately.

Reading

My oldest daughter has entered the Hunger Games world and I could not be more excited. It’s so fun to bond over books with someone living right in my home. Our rides to school in the morning are now chats over character development and plot lines. I made a deal with her to watch each movie after she finishes a book and it’s been such a memorable mommy-and-me experience!

I read three books since February and am still listening to the ACOTAR series. The announcement of not one, but TWO new ACOTAR books by Sarah J. Maas last month was groundbreaking! When I’m done with a book, I usually share my thoughts on the blog. However, it’s easier for you to read my book reviews here.

P.S. Don’t ask how I’m reading three books, but I have a tendency to hop around if one book doesn’t hold all of my attention.

Wearing

Remember when I said I love getting dressed for work? Well, I love it even more now that I have a wide variety of scrubs in amazing colors. Every time a fun color goes on sale I have to buy it.

Working On

I have been sucked into trying viral yoga poses on Tik Tok. I can’t do half of them, but yoga poses are a lot easier than viral dances. And it’s fun to laugh at yourself. What you see below is a FAILED attempt.
