One of the million reasons I love having a blog is to be able to look back over the years at our life. I used to record everything here, but became selective a few years ago. This Weekend Update – Easter Edition is important because it was our first Easter in our new home.
We spent the beginning of our holiday weekend getting organized after a really long work week. Since it was raining the majority of the weekend, we had to stay inside. Friday I went to a few grocery stores as our cupboards were bare (by a few I mean three!). That evening we went to dinner with my Mom at Krust in Middletown. Their pizza is so delicious! On Saturday, we organized the girls’ playroom. It was such a chaotic mess!
Annabelle and Ailey have a lot of toys – unorganized and shoved into basket all over the room. Their books have been piled up in a canvas bin for months so I ran out to the store to find a bookcase. I came home with a Cube Storage Organizer for under $30 and three collapsible storage cubes. WHAT A DIFFERENCE THIS MAKES. We are going to get another for books only to put in the Ailey’s bedroom too.
Easter Sunday
Annabelle woke us all up early, as she was ready to find any eggs the Easter bunny may have hid around the house. She reminds me so much of myself, unable to sleep in on a holiday knowing there might be surprises downstairs. Watching the girls hunt for Easter Bunny eggs is one of my favorite memories in our house thus far… they were so cute together.
I made a spinach bacon quiche and cinnamon rolls for our Easter breakfast. Annabelle helped me set the table and the girls were excited to use their new dishes from the Easter Bunny.
After Ailey’s nap we went to my parent’s house for Easter supper. My sister’s in-laws came over as well! We had a little Easter egg hunt for the kids (indoors of course) and ate a ton of delicious food. I didn’t take as many photos as I usually do because I feel like I’m always behind the camera instead of spending time with others.
Today I’m back to the real world – with a morning meeting, afternoon conference call, and a smelly basement to organize. The Veterans are picking up donations tomorrow and I need to purge a lot of stuff that still hasn’t been unpacked since we moved in ten months ago!
