A Surprise Proposal: My little sister is engaged!

We are so excited to share the secret trip we took to Connecticut to be a part of my sister’s proposal. Enjoy the story behind this surprise proposal.

Last weekend my family headed to the airport to fly to Connecticut for a super top secret mission we can call RYAN’S SURPRISE PROPOSAL.

My little sister’s boyfriend has been planning a surprise wedding proposal for a few months now, and asked Annabelle, Brandon, and I to be a part of it. He actually asked all of their close family and friends to be a part of the proposal. We couldn’t get a photographer, but my sister’s friend tried to take some photos from behind a wall.

The plan was to bring Lizzie to one of her favorite restaurants in town. When she walked in, Annabelle and I would be standing in the hallway with a sign… a sign that she didn’t end up reading until I had to practically shove it in her face. Once she read the sign, she started laughing… and CRYING (which she never does!) and turned to see Ryan down on one knee.

The whole proposal would occur in front of a dining room where immediate family would be watching. After she said, “YES!” – which she did – Tine would give her a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers. Then there would be lots of champagne and hugs and flashing of the ring.

Once we calmed down a bit, everyone would go upstairs to a room where more family and lots of friends would be waiting to surprise the newly engaged couple. The proposal plan went off without a hitch and Lizzie and Ryan will be getting married in Fall 2016!!!

Cue the ugly cry face!

My heart is so full of love and joy knowing that my sister has met the man of her dreams. Ryan is an incredible guy and we am so lucky that he is going to officially be a part of our family. Congrats Lizzie and Ryan! May the celebration last until the night ends after you say, “I do!”
