…who doesn’t give a rats butt about “The Royal Wedding??”
These stupid things (sans Mr. Bear) were EVERYWHERE in the Caymen Islands. And I was so angry and irritated that I kept seeing them, it took everything in my power to not kick them down and stopp on them.
I will NOT watch anything about the wedding today….I do not care about them.
(written at 5am…)
It is now 6:19am… and I just turned on the Royal Wedding. The Priest JUST ANNOUNCED THEM HUSBAND AND WIFE. Kate is smirking… you can hear cheers outside… and I have goosebumps. I can’t believe myself. I don’t even know them… but I totally remember the feeling.
When our Pastor announced Mr. Bear and I as husband and wife I got the most incredible rush of emotion throughout my body and as the smile spread across my face I knew that my life had just changed forever…and for the best.
What made me so angry about the publicity before this wedding is that William and Kate should have been able to plan their wedding without the opinion of the entire world. So many people cared about this wedding that 1. don’t even know them and 2. don’t even live in their country.
A wedding is so special, so sacramental, and very personal – even though you are pronouncing your love for one another in front of others. It is supposed to be the most special day of your life (before the birth of a child of course). But their wedding… its become such a big deal to the whole world and all the stupid news channels, that it lost its sparkle. It is now something that millions of stupid brides are going to try to copy – everything from the dress to the songs such at the ceremony to probably William’s hairstyle. The publicity of the wedding makes the holy matrimony of these two important people a joke for others.
Okay… I am getting off my high horse and going to finish getting ready for school.
What are your thoughts about the “Royal Wedding?”
Someone fight me on this one =0)

I totally agree with you! The 5th grade students in my school are watching it today! The teachers want them to see it for “SOCIAL STUDIES” reasons!!!
Happy weekend friend!
p.s. I can’t get enough of your wedding pics, you were so gorgeous!
I totally agree that the hoopla totally takes away from the meaning and significance of the event….but I’m totally watching. I teared up when I saw Kate, I don’t know if it’s the emotions from visualizing my own wedding day or if I’m just crazy….maybe a little of both?
DITTO!!!!!! I couldn’t care less. Although, Kate did look beautiful from the pics I’ve seen.
haha well I won’t fight you, but I will say that I enjoyed the excitement of the wedding(but I agree it was getting a little too much with all the media coverage that started months ago). I completely agree that a wedding is extremely personal and that it’s a very important day but I think both William and Kate did a great job of keeping details as much to themselves as possible. I think once this wedding is over they’ll go back to living a quiet personal life – neither one of them seem to be very “HEY LOOK AT ME I’M A ROOOOYAL”.
I think I’m sucked in because a royal wedding isn’t something we see everyday…it’s a rare occasion and one that is very important to those who live in that country. The Royal Family is a huge part of their tradition, history and culture that it would just seem odd if it wasn’t a big deal. I also think with all the sadness we see every day on the news it’s a nice change to see something so uplifting, heartwarming, loving and fun on the news. At least it was to me. Not that I want to live in “lala land” forever but turning on my TV early this morning and hearing the Pastor speak and watching the couple look at each other lovingly was a nice change from all the pain, politics and money issues going on around the world.
Love you, Mrs. Bear!!! Don’t hate me 😉
I am excited to watch it because it’s not often we get to witness something like this, but I agree… the day is sacred, and now it will become something of folly for a lot of people, and brides everywhere will just copy Kate and not find their own style. That I think is sad. i hope William and Kate get little moments today completely alone so they can savor the day and their happy emotions.
I’m not fighting you on this one. I purposely didn’t watch any of the coverage beforehand. I too, didn’t really care. I watched the ceremony this morning & loved it. I think they did a beautiful job planning it & they looked so happy. I’m glad that they appeared happy.
