The whole world smiles with you =0)
Day 6 and I am still going strong – I feel great and haven’t snacked (okay that’s a lie… I nibbled on a little too much Ciabatta bread before dinner last night). Friday we went out with our friends (yes we have two friends in Baltimore now) to Canton Square and Fell’s Point. We started our night at Mama’s on the Half Shell and boy-oh-boy was it is good!
We’re here!!
Old Bay Seasoning and Fine Sea Salt is apparently a staple at all Maryland Seafood restaurants… which is fine by me because I love both!
My incredible steamed sampler – mussels, clams, oysters, shrimp, corn, potatoes, onions, and a hung of crusty Italian bread. OMG.
Mr. Bear being silly … we went to a bar called The Horse You Rode In On in Fell’s Point and while the band was pretty terrible, the atmosphere was fun and we will definitely come back!
We ended the night at the Waterfront Hotel – it is the second oldest building in Baltimore and such a cool place. Not only was it not too crowded, but they also had an incredible band, Will Hill, who jumped on the bar for some face melting guitar solos!
Saturday morning we went back to the WTF (hehe yes that’s the bar/restaurant’s nickname) to have brunch and boy am I glad we went there! I had the Shrooms Omelette – button mushrooms, capers, mozzarella, gorgonzola, & wilted greens w/ cheese grits, toast, and melon. MMmm MMmm Good. Mr. Bear had the Cheeseburger Bacon Omelette…not my cup of tea but he said it was delicious! Our friends had the Hangover Helper and that looked quite tasty as well. We are going to bring my mom and cousin there this weekend when they come to town!
We took it easy Saturday night because my interview for a teaching program was early early Sunday morning. I made pizza and we watched some Mad Men – which is our new favorite show. We are only on Season Two Disc Two but we love it!
Yesterday was probably the most stressful day of my life thus far. I found out they are only offering 200 people jobs out of the 3500 people they are interviewing. Fingers crossed that everything went well…I really feel like my purpose in life is to be an incredible teacher and that this job is what I am supposed to do. I want to be a positive influence in the lives of children in low-income communities – I want to give them the educational opportunities and support that I had growing up. I will know in about three weeks if I am going to be offered a job… so please please PLEASE pray for me!
Fingers crossed for you!!
Good job with the no snacking!!! Keep it up!!
