As promised… I shall reveal the little bit of news that we have been keeping secret…

My super duper grin after we signed something….
We are FINALLY moving out of a stinky small apartment and into a huge townhouse!! (renters not owners)
I have been keeping it from my favoritest readers in blogland because I am superstitious and did not want to jinx anything. Mr. Bear found this incredible townhouse online last Monday, we toured the place on Thursday, and it became ours Sunday morning. (Well, it became ours in the sense that we signed a two+ year lease. We will be renting it because we are so not ready to buy a place yet).
I am already mentally planning our housewarming party.
Since the Bears will be traveling the next two weekends (Atlanta and CT), we won’t begin moving until January 29th. The townhouse is about 4 miles from where we currently live, but Mr. Bear’s awesome friends have volunteered to help us with the move.
The townhouse is absolutely gimongous compared to where we have lived since we moved in together in July 2008. Our new place has 3 floors (all newly furnished) with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The basement has a built-in bar (Mr. Bear was SO pumped), fireplace (yah!), and is wired for surround sound. The picture below shows the owner’s furniture, but ours will be set up similarly.
My kitchen has all new appliances and even though it is not very large, I can’t complain because the refrigerator, microwave, and stove are beauteous.
The yard is insanely large because our townhouse is on the end of the unit and we have a pretty built in stone patio. We are going to get a grill and definitely take advantage of the huge space (with maybe a pup!).
Obviously once we move in I will take more pictures with my own camera and our things in the background. I would love to show you the rest of the pictures from the website, but I would like to keep the place a surprise!
I am so happy that we are moving on up – out of apartment life and into house life (if that makes sense). We have been struggling here with the thin walls and strange neighbors who play with their electronic helicopters outside our window. I swear the guy who lives above us is an acrobat… for it sounds like he dismounts off of his bed at 4am every morning when he gets up!

Ooooh! I love this! We have a house that my fiance’ bought before he met me…. so unfortunately I didn’t get to have a say!
It will be so nice to have more space! I would hold of on having a housewarming until you own- if thats what you are planning to do within the next 5 years. I think it’s bad taste to have multiple “housewarmings”,since they are seen as a party people bring gifts to. If you have one this year then I wouldn’t have one in two years if you plan to buy then or soon thereafter. I would save it until you own and know you won’t be moving/know what you are going to do with the place. Sorry to be a party pooper! Congrats on moving!
YAY for your new place, it’s beautiful! We’re in the same boat as you, we’re renting a house until we get a better handle on what our future holds. The whole idea of a mortgage is WAY scary to us still!

How exciting! Congrats and have fun decorating and settling in!! The townhouse looks super cute! We live on base in a duplex so its an all one floor three bedroom one and half bath house and we share one wall. Its super quiet and we lucked out having some carpeting while most of the duplexes had tile floors blah! Its fun decorating but I can not wait till we have our own place and I can paint and decorate and put hard wood floors in lol!
Haha I seriously thought you were announcing a pregnancy until I saw the drinks! I am so happy for you, congrats on the townhouse! As a girl who still shares a tiny apartment with her husband, I can definitely understand how excited you are, enjoy it and all of your extra space 🙂
YAY! Congrats!!! That is so exciting! We are renting a townhouse as well, we have been the last 2 years and just extended our lease another year. I love townhouse living but wish our place was a little bigger and a little newer…it’s kind of outdated and some things are starting to fall apart! I can’t wait to follow along with the move and decorating and the housewarming party!!!

aww yayayayay!!! Your new home is SO adorable! I’m so so so happy for you and Mr. Bear! We also rent – a home that has been split up into two apartments, so it’s slightly different but kinda the same idea as a townhome. We have been super fortunate so far and have had amazing neighbors – they are hardly here so we feel like we have an entire home to ourselves 🙂 *hopefully i don’t jinx it now!*
WHooo hooooo! Congratulations! That is sooo very exciting! I am so happy for you! I think that your townhouse is so gorgous! My boyfriend and I bought our condo a couple of years ago and we love it! It is so nice to be on our own and we having amazing neighbors and live in a great community (which could either make or break you).

Congrats!! That’s so exciting! Can’t wait to see more pics and hear about decorating! Before we bought the house we’re in, we lived in a townhouse for a couple of years. It gave us a great idea of what our “must have” list included for when we were looking to buy. Congrats again!!
