I’m so excited to share our weekend trip to begin our wedding registry at Macy’s. Armed with our handy dandy The Knot wedding registry checklist, we headed to the mall.
How to Choose your Macy’s Wedding Registry Items
Brandon and I created a touch test for choosing the best towels, bedding, luggage, etc. You name it, we touched it. Everything that we registered for we had to handle, hold, or throw before we pointed our scan machine at the bar code. I think that our system was successful because we are now registered for the most soft, feathery, and durable items in Macy’s.
The touch test even worked for our fine china. We were allowed to pick multiple sets of china, flatware, stemware, and linens and assemble our own little place setting on the mock tables set up in Macy’s dining section. It was so cool!
Choosing Wedding China is Difficult
One of the more difficult parts of the day was choosing wedding China. Brandon and I had trouble deciding on patterns. Lisa, our helpful wedding registry consultant, put together a place setting with the items we ultimately chose. We love the Waterford Kilbarry Platinum China, Mikasa Olympus Stemware, and Lenox Laurel Placemats.
Registering for your Wedding at Home
At the end of our registry appointment we realized we forgot a couple of things. Fortunately, Macy’s wedding registry is available online so we can add the vases and vacuum at home.
After a long day at the mall, we are only registered for wedding gifts at Macy’s . We had planned to register at Crate and Barrel and Bed, Bath, Beyond, but after Macy’s we were pooped. Not only was there a 70 year old woman walking around the department store playing bagpipes, but also way too many down comforters to choose from. I think we somehow accidentally settled on the most expensive comforter in the store. It is not like we looked at prices, we just squished all the down blankets in the store and picked the most squishy.
We hope to visit other stores soon to add to our wedding registry. I hope you enjoyed my experience!
Thought I’d be your first comment! I loved registering and Michael really got into it too. I was pooped after just doing BBB, so we did the rest online. Super easy…you should try it! It gives guests a nice price range for stuff to get you.
