Sharing a little life lately update with what we are doing, what we have done, and what I’ve added to my closet during September in 2023.
Life Lately – September 2023
September went by a lot faster than the last few months – perhaps it’s because we started into a new family routine? Or maybe it’s because I have been so busy trying to keep said routine straight. Whatever the reason, I can’t believe tomorrow is October 1.
Despite it’s quick departure, the first of the -ber months did not disappoint. Here are a few highlights from September 2023 I never want to forget!
- Our two oldest girls auditioned for the children’s roles in The Nutcracker at the Oakdale – and made it! They were both cast as a Snowflake and a Party Girl! They’ll be dancing alongside some of their friends from their dance studio as well as an insanely talented international cast!
- My Mother-in-Law came to visit from Tennessee – and while she was here we went on an adults only trip to somewhere fun (keep reading to find out).
- I went on a four mile hike on the Appalachian Trail with a new friend – did you know hiking is wonderful for your mental health?
- I celebrated my 38th birthday in Las Vegas with Brandon and some of our friends! We stayed in the Palazzo Tower at the Venetian on the Prestige Club Lounge Level. The Prestige Club has continental breakfast and happy hour/appetizers every day. I highly recommend it! I also loved dinner at Lavo & SW at the Wynn and lunch at Buddy Vs.
- While in Vegas we went to see The 1975 at the Life is Beautiful festival in Vegas. They’re my favorite band – and wow, was it an AMAZING show!
- We visited Beaumont Farms to pick out Mums and Tiny Pumpkins for our home – Arbor had a blast.

What’s Coming Up for October
I can’t believe tomorrow is October. We are decorating for Halloween this weekend (inside and outside) and going to pick out a pumpkin. Our Halloween costumes are still undecided – I don’t know how we can top last year’s family costume. October is also the month of my sister in law’s baby shower and our town’s annual celebration. Here’s to hoping it doesn’t fly by as fast as September!
I’m jealous of your Appalachian Trail hike – or any hike because it’s been so long. I seem to hike when on vacation but not home.
I noticed a lot of The 1975 fans in my instagram feed and tried them out (of course the who TSwift thing too) – and I really like them! A couple of their latest songs get turned up loud.

September flew by for me too – travel does that – we were gone from the 6th to the 12th. Only one week but I come home and the month is half over!
