Life lately as a Mom of two under three is difficult and exhausting. Enjoy a recap of our life lately.
If someone could send me a shirt that says TEAM NO SLEEP to let the world know why I suddenly look five years older that would be great. I don’t think I’ve had more than two hours of a solid sleep in almost two weeks.
Ailey is going through something terrible; she wakes and screams inconsolably no matter where we lay her down. Last night we tried some colic drops… I’ll let you know how they work in a few more days.
After one of the worst nights ever, I got myself together enough to meet my best friend, Kim, at the park. It’s amazing what a little bit of Vitamin D can do for a sleep deprived Momma. Annabelle had an awesome time with her little best friend while I was able to vent to Kim. Ailey enjoyed the fresh air, especially when I nursed her outside.
Do you have a cover for breastfeeding in public? I adore my Milkmaid Goods houndstooth nursing poncho and literally bring it everywhere. When I’m not using it to nurse Ailey, the poncho is a blanket, car seat cover, or even changing pad.
Annabelle and Lia have always looked alike from behind – if we put them in the same outfit, it would be hard to tell them apart. Well, except for the fact that Lia is a fearless little thing who runs a bit faster than Annabelle and isn’t afraid to climb up the playscape to the tallest slide.
I’m really amazed at how Annabelle is changing so much every day… two weeks ago she showed me she knew how to make an “A” and then last week this happened.
We picked up a couple of alphabet books at the dollar store and are now working on tracing letters. She has a strange grip on her writing tool, so her teacher gave us a couple of exercises to work on to strengthen the grip she should have as a three/four year old when writing. The teacher in me loves working with her on this kind of stuff!
Even though Ailey has been sick and not sleeping well, she’s in great spirits during the day. Smiley Ailey is living up to her nickname and if we are in public – you’d never know she can carry a high note better than Mariah Carey.
Annabelle and Brandon went to the Pep Rally in Atlanta on Sunday for the Falcons – they sent the team off with lots of cheers and “Rise Up” chants as they drove off to the Super Bowl in Texas. Brandon’s Mom is coming to say the girls this weekend so Brandon and I can go into the city to watch the big game.

Ughhh so sorry you’re not getting any sleep Mama, that is SO rough! Hopefully those colic drops work. That nursing cover is so cute! Annabelle does look so much older in those pics, time to needs to stop moving so fast!
