Ughhh Mondays after a holiday break are the pits. I wanted to do a recap of the last week – we went to San Francisco, Napa, Tennessee… we bought and decorated a Christmas tree and Christmas-fied our home – but I’m too tired. There are so many pictures and so many stories I want to tell, but today – I just have to breathe. I have to get back into the swing of things because after 10 days away from the real world, we all know how hard it is to adjust.
Annabelle is probably having a tough time at baby school today – even though she was quite excited when I dropped her off that they had decorated the school for Christmas. She slept with her pacifier for every nap and goodnight snooze she took over the last 8 days. Baby school wanted her to be done with her pacifier, but sometimes things just don’t work out the way you want them to. Personally, I don’t think there is anything wrong with my almost-2-year-old using a pacifier at sleepy time. However, their protocol states by the age of two she should not be using one. Bollucks to that rule, but I hope she is smiling when I pick her up this afternoon!
Well – it’s back to the grind. The students are on their way to my classroom and I need to get my game face on. If you’re dragging today – wake up – shake it off – and enjoy the last day of November. Tomorrow the Christmas season officially begins!
It’s a total pet peeve of mine when day care centers make “rules” for things that really should be a parent’s choice. I get that they can have suggestions, or there ARE some things that they need to mandate (like say potty-training by a certain age since they won’t have the proper supplies for diaper changes), but a binky at her age is totally fine. Our guy will be two in March and I have no plans on giving it up anytime soon. He’s learning to soothe himself. Sorry, I know that wasn’t the point of this post, but it bothered me. Haha.
