This happens:
Last night I received a very interesting email from the guy who was going to set up the sound system for our iPod ceremony music. It went a little like this…
“Hey. I’m sorry, but I have just decided to not provide our services for your wedding. I hope that you find someone else that will work with you, and that your day is as special as you have imagined it.”
Um… SERIOUSLY? THERE ARE 11 DAYS TIL MY WEDDING AND YOU CANCEL YOUR SERVICES?? WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!?!
His reasoning: unsuccessful payment and broken promises.
Apparently he didn’t receive his check (when every other vendor received theirs), so he asked for a credit card number. My mom didn’t want to email her info – so she called him – he didn’t answer – so she emails him requesting he returns her call – he says he is out of the office – I receive stupid email.
I sort of want to reveal everything about this big d-bag to you, but I am not that mean of a person. Instead, I plan on writing an anonymous review about him on a Destin vendor website and letting people know that he is unstable and unreliable. And a loser who probably has crappy equipment. And smells bad.
Just when I was about to get all ghetto bridezilla…
**Call his house, curse him out with every swear word imaginable, and then tell him I hope he fails at everything he ever does in life for ruining my wedding…
**Channel my inner 4 year old self (a.k.a Satan) by throwing my body on the floor, kicking, screaming and crying, ripping my hair out…
I actually thought clearly for a moment and picked up the phone.
Who did I call?? No, not the ghostbusters… but someone WAY cooler. My amazing photographer/superawesome bff Susan! This was probably the best idea I’ve ever had because… SHE SAVED THE DAY (and Mr. H didn’t run out of the apartment crying & traumatized for life).
Susan and Brandon’s very good friend is an incredible guitarist who lives in Panama City. And…fingers crossed … he is going to be playing at our wedding ceremony next Saturday!!!!! Hip hip hooray!!!
I mean, live music is way cooler than some tool with an ipod and speakers anyways right?
Bless your heart, girlie! I know that must be totally nerve wracking, but I’ll definitely keep my fingers crossed that the guitarist comes through! You’re right – live music is way better than a DJ anyway! 😉 Hang in there, girlie! No matter what type of music you ultimately have at your wedding, at the end of the day, you’ll still be Mrs. H! And that’s what really matters anyway! 🙂

You’re right. He is a d-bag. But you handled it amazingly and hopefully everything works out with this guitarist!
Don’t stress….everything happens for a reason, my best friend got married in June and her OFFICIANT skipped out 48 hours before. And get this….they only found out because they called to ask him a random question. They thought they were screwed…it was a destination wedding and they had NO ONE. Luckily they found someone they liked even more.

ONG GIIIIIRL my DJ bailed on us with just FIVE days until the wedding. and we only found out while my mom was calling around other DJs trying to find a plan B bc we hadnt heard from ours in over a month. talk about a nightmare. i was bawling at work! OMG but we figured it out and found a new DJ. it will all work out! dont you worry!
