On Friday when Mr. Bear got out of work we took off for CT to surprise my parents one day earlier than they thought we were coming! We made it in exactly 4.5 hours – if it weren’t for the lines at the tolls than The look on my mom’s face was priceless as we strolled up to the restaurant where she, my sister, and cousins were having dinner. Here are some photos of our way too quick weekend in my hometown:

My delicious plate of food at my dad’s birthday dinner… I wish I had some of that right now! My mom and I ventured out to The Italian store and bought the freshest ingredients for the meal – ricotta, mozzarella, sausage (for the men), spaghetti, bread, etc.

My Bruschetta BreadBowl. This was a huge hit – fresh baked bread, tomatoes, homemade mozzarella, basil, and kalamata olives from The Italian Store.

Yaaaay! It looks like you and Mr. Bear had quite the fabulous weekend! The food looks uhh-may-zing, and if I didn’t have to squeeze into a dress that may or may not be a size too small in approximately 3 months and two weeks (but who’s counting?!), I would demand that you give me the recipe for this wonderful Italian dinner and then eat it myself!! Ahh. In June, though, I’m raiding your recipe closet! 🙂
