My family and I are in our favorite place for the week. We like to rent a house down the street from the beach with my parents and siblings every summer in the Outer Cape. Days in the sand and nights on the back deck, we take it easy inhaling the salty air in one of the most serene and beautiful places in the country. We’ve had a few cloudy days, but this afternoon there’s a promise of sun. Tomorrow is Ailey’s birthday and we will be celebrating our two year old with a donut cake and Peppa party hats! You can always follow along on my trip through my Instagram stories here. In the meantime, here are a few photos of our annual Cape Cod family vacation so far. Enjoy!
We took a lunch trip to one of our favorite rooftop restaurants – JD’s in Provincetown. Everything on the menu is delicious!
We make at least one trip a day to Wellfleet Marketplace for groceries, fresh bread (the best!) and treats. There is a fresh produce and fish market in the parking lot across the street, Hatch’s Fish Market and Produce, that we also frequent.
We hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Be back tomorrow with Ailey’s second birthday post.

Enjoy your week on the Cape, I’ve been a reader for a few years and am a native Cape Codder. Hopefully you can catch a sunset at Skaket beach in Orleans one night- especially if it matches up with low tide (you can walk for miles!).

My husband Bob and I would spend our last vacation week in August in Provincetown every summer for years…it was “our” special place for chilling out and good seafood….we moved away from Ct in December 2007 to Daytona Beach, Fl…and I long for those Cape Cod days still…we would drive from Ct to Provincetown taking our time talking in the car….enjoy your family and vacations at THE CAPE for as long as you can.!!!
