We don’t talk about it enough, but the Topic of Being Considerate of Others is extremely important
My Mom has always instilled a belief of karma in my being – she taught me to do unto others as you would want them to do to you for what goes around comes around. If I am rude to people, they’ll be rude to me. If I’m not considerate of my friends and family, they won’t be considerate of me.
I actively try to be considerate of those around me whether I know the person or not. However, I’ve learned that being a good person takes work and there’s always room to improve.
So this post brings up the question: “What if everyone did that?”
What if everyone was considerate of those around them? We read the book, “What if everybody did that?” in my third grade last week and it really made me think. The book has children making poor decisions and then considering different scenarios of consequences.
For example, what if everyone threw their trash out the window while driving? Obviously – the world would look like one big dump. I love how children’s books teach a lesson in a fun way and someday I hope to read this book to my daughter. I know the best way to instill the same morals in her being is by action, but books are also a great resource.
Do you think before you act?
If you have children, how do you teach your children to be considerate of others?
