Thank you SO much for all of the congrats on our BABY GIRL!!! We are beyond thrilled – and so is all of the family and our friends. I know a lot of you had questions about the gender reveal… so here are your answers!
B and I went to a special place to get a gender scan because we knew we weren’t going to be able to wait until the appointment the doctor made for us (July 22). The place we went was fabulous and Baby Girl took her time to show us her goodies. Literally, she took her time. We waited 15 minutes for her to turn over. I actually got up and danced around the room after we watched the little yoga baby sleep in “child’s pose” for 10 minutes. After the ultrasound tech got a gender shot she explained what a little boy/girl’s private parts look like. Then she pointed out Baby’s and said, “It’s a GIRL!” B an
d I planned to tell our immediate family as soon as we found out. Then they were sworn to secrecy until we did the gender reveal cake with B’s family in Florida. We didn’t get any pictures/video of the ultrasound because we will do that with our doctor in a few weeks.
Technically, B and I didn’t have a gender reveal party. We had a gender reveal celebration. It was hard to plan a big shebang on the fourth of July when 17 of us had gathered in the condo for family photos. We had B’s family photos at the beach and it was super chaotic – and rainy and windy outside. After pictures, we ran upstairs to cut the cake…
Our cake was made by Karaboo Bakery in Destin, Florida. Kara is incredible and was so much fun to work with! I sent her a few ideas and she put them all together to come up with our cake – which was filled with vanilla and raspberry butter cream frosting (it was delicious!). The stork is carrying a baby through the air, over the ocean, in a sand bucket, and the trim is pink and blue nautical rope. Sand bucket, sand baby, ropes…Very fitting for the beach.
