The struggle is real. Not wanting to be a negative Nancy or anything, but I am going to do a whole post about things that are NOT my favorite this week. Enjoy.
one. bear meat sandwiches.
Thanks to my favorite bagel place for leaving the egg off of my EGG bagel sandwich this morning. Don’t they know this pregnant girl needs her morning protein – and not in the form of double turkey sausage.
two. Taco Bell FAIL.
They DISCONTINUED my Sriracha Chicken Crunchwrap Slider and replaced it with some crappy creation called a Quesalupa. The guy at the drive thru convinced me to try it and I was so disgusted I spit out the one bite I took. I don’t like to waste food, so understand that this truly tasted that bad. It tasted like soggy sour cream chicken wrapped in a bad church carnival fried dough. There was no cheesy surprise baked inside of the shell like the commercials either. Way to go Taco Bell ruining my #1 pregnancy craving.
three. the pants situation.
I’m not big enough to fit into maternity jeans yet, but I’m too big to fit into any of the jeans in my closet. Even my go-to stretchy pants from J.Crew are starting to pop at the button/zipper and I am afraid every time I sit down I’m going to bust a seam. And the underwear situation is beginning – my hips are too big for the current size in my drawers and I’m tearing the lacy waistbands left and right. Looks like I will be doing some shopping this weekend.
four. the missing bump.
Yes I am completely aware that I don’t look 15 weeks pregnant, but it’s not a compliment when you scoff at my bump. The fact that my pants don’t button and my bras are too small is enough for me to feel pregnant and you should not mock me for that. I wrote a whole blog post series when I was pregnant with Annabelle about the difference in bump sizes among women. I know I am overly sensitive because of the surge of hormones pulsing through my veins, but it does hurt my feelings when you tell me I don’t look pregnant. Because I feel it. And there really is a baby in my belly!
five. pregnancy brain.
It’s real people – gestational amnesia is a condition (that someone made up) to describe what happens to a woman when she is pregnant and can’t remember why she put her car keys in the fridge. I’m about to go Code Red on my house to find my favorite pair of black stretchy pants. I remember putting them somewhere “safe” but don’t know where that special place is. Two days ago I almost drank the Honest kitchen cleaner thinking it was my water bottle.
Now for the good stuff…
- FULLER HOUSE IS ON NETFLIX!
- IT’S FRIDAY!
- We are revealing the gender of Baby H 2.0 to our families this weekend! And for all you who want to know too – I’ll tell you next week!
Linking up with Momfessionals, A. Liz Adventures, Eat Pray Run DC.
oh, man! sometimes you just have to let it all out. I can’t believe someone would mock you for your bump! that’s crazy. But at least it’s Fri-yay! Have a great weekend!
ok im super excited to hear what you are having my love!! and hey, 15 weeks and not looking it take it for what it is girl 🙂 happy friday!
Oh I remember people telling me how little I was when I was pregnant, and it didn’t make me feel good, because I felt huge. I know they meant it as a compliment, but I wasn’t feeling it. And yes, hangry is definitely a real thing. Haha! I can’t wait to hear if you’re having a boy or a girl. Have a great weekend!
My friend is 17 weeks pregnant right now with her first and she doesn’t have a bump at all. Some people think she does and some are like Are you even pregnant?! She’s like yeah if the 2 bagels, broc&cheese soup and full sandwich I ate at Panera earlier wasn’t enough…pretty sure the doctors aren’t lying to me.
Have a good weekend!
Oh mama! The Taco Bell crisis – would have put me in tears. And your bump is super cute just the way it is!
I watched the first episode of Fuller House this morning while getting ready – watch watch watch! It will instantly turn your frown upside down!
We are gender revealing to our fam this weekend too! So excited!
With my second child, I carried so high that maternity bottoms slipped right off me! I wore my regular jeans/pants the entire pregnancy because of that little problem and just used belt extenders similar to these below. Hang in there mama!

Oh man I remember rocking my pants unbuttoned like that for weeks!!! I carried my second baby really high at the beginning so my pants fit fine other than buttoning.. that in-between stage is rough! And it sucks how pregnant women can never win. you are either getting comments because you don’t look pregnant, or getting comments because you look huge. And boo to Taco Bell!!!! I would have been so mad!!!
O man, I am laughing at all this but it is with love that I do so. You are so funny! I hope things start looking up! I need to tell my sis about Fuller house!
My pregnancy I carried small and I got SO annoyed when people would tell me “there’s no way you’re in your third trimester” and I was like “yes, damn it I promise you I am!”. Haha! In general I think the only thing people should comment on a pregnant woman is “you look beautiful (great, awesome, etc.)” 😀
Oh man, I absolutely hated any kind of commentary on my pregnant body when I was pregnant. Too big/too small, don’t eat too much, don’t eat too little. For some reason people feel extra-entitled to tell you what they think about your body when you’re pregnant and it’s not a good idea when a woman is functioning on pregnancy hormones! Sorry you are going through it right now! Can’t wait to hear the gender reveal! (And thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment!)

Ahhhh….everybody loves a good gender reveal post! Such fun!! Have a wonderful weekend!
Your blog is super cute! And I get the whole food thing… when I was pregnant I had some morning sickness and when that finally subsided around 17 weeks or so I was still in a place where only certain things sounded good and there were a lot of aversions. They gave me the wrong breakfast sandwich at mcdonalds one morning and we didn’t realize it until we were down the road and it was too late to go back and I just bawled and bawled. Sorry about the Taco Bell and breakfast bagel incidents. 🙂
YES to all of this! I can’t believe TBell got rid of your favorite item while you’re pregnant—the nerve!!! I remember we ordered a pizza while I was pregnant from Papa Johns but all I wanted was their cheesy bread, so we ordered a side of that too but after it got delivered and we opened up the boxes, I realized they gave us a cheese pizza and not cheesy bread. I cried real tears. And pregnancy brain just turns into mom brain because i’m still putting my clothes in “safe” spots and never ever remembering where they are. haha. Love the blog!!
xo Christina
oh girl I woulda DIED about that bagel mishap. sausage made me so sick when i was prego! thanks for stopping by my blog, love discovering yours!! <3
That bagel is not appetizing at all. I feel like I’m on the opposite belly spectrum, like I’m bigger than all my friends were at 16 weeks. I keep searching #x amount of weeks to see if I’m normal or not haha but you’re right it differs so much between women. I had to break down and go buy some stretchier looser fitting but not maternity clothes today. Everything is just so uncomfortable.
I hate how everyone and their mother feels the need to comment on how big or small a persons bump is. No matter what we all feel it. People need to get over themselves.
How’s fuller house? I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet.
Can’t wait to find out boy or girl!!!
I think almost EVERYONE thought I was having a girl (my husband and i opted to not find out gender ahead of time so there was a solid 7 months of speculation after we announced the pregnancy). Even strangers would weigh in with ‘girl’. I am pretty sure it was because I gained weight EVERYWHERE–hahaha.
The belly band was my best friend! My first two I barley look pregnant and deliver, my last two I like quadrupled in size!
