One very important piece of surviving Motherhood is something I wish I knew 8 years ago. This is the best advice for a new Mom or a new Dad.
Dear New Mama,
I want to give you a little bit of unsolicited advice. It’s just a tiny suggestion I wish someone had given me when I was a new Mom… especially when I was struggling with a baby who never slept.
Your baby is extraordinary in a million different ways – some may be similar to other babies, but most will be unique for your little one. THIS IS OKAY! Babies do things on their own time (just think about when you went into labor).
Your sole purpose as a Mama is to make sure your baby is fed, safe, and loved. That’s really all that matters.
So put down the baby development books.
Leave the overwhelming Mommy groups.
Avoid conversations with competitive parents.
Stop worrying about the milestone checklist.
Instead – focus on your tiny miracle, soak in all your special moments together, and don’t forget – YOU ARE AMAZING.
Love,
