Baby Facts
I think the best thing I’ve read about a baby at 38 weeks is that she is officially FULL TERM and considered a FREELOADER at this point. I know she is well over 6lbs, breathing on her own, and capable of surviving in the real world on her own. So… she can come out now. Or start paying rent.
Movement: I said it best last week – painful. Her feet find a way to roundhouse kick me in the ribs and it takes my breathe away every time.
Symptoms: Heartburn. Frequent potty trips. Trouble breathing after I eat because there is no room in my body for air/food. Intensified IBS symptoms. Pelvic pressure. Aversion to seafood is alive and strong. And the long awaited lightening crotch has become a daily occurrence. My sweet Ailey hits some nerve somewhere that sends numbing fire pains throughout my lady parts and down my inner thighs. I am often brought to my knees on the floor and my Mom or Brandon often think its me going down in labor pains. If only it was labor pains…
Labor Signs?
Negative. I think my “cramps” are all IBS related and my contractions are all noneventful BH. Her movements are so restricted in my belly that they mimic contractions. The doctor I saw last week said that 2 cm dilation was a generous assessment and then we discussed stripping my membranes at 39 weeks and a few days. AKA no more assumptions I will go into labor on my own before due date.
How I’m Feeling: That emotional roller coaster that I’m on is not cool. I mentioned how I was feeling last week but it’s only intensified. I want the baby to come asap but at the same time, I’m struggling with anxiety over labor and then the life change of having two kiddos.
Wondering? Here is my 38 week bump update with Annabelle.

You look adorable! Love that little basketball bump. Hopefully little girl decides it’s time to come out soon, I know how uncomfortable the end can be. You’re almost there!
